I first began selling my jewelry when I was 15 during our town's local arts night. I became a regular at the local bead shop, Talisman in Eureka, and have loved the hobby ever since. I decided long ago that I was put on this earth to make things beautiful, whether on a large or small scale!
I work mostly with Swarovski crystal and Czech glass. I am drawn to these materials simply because they are of the best quality and are the most vibrant. One of the best things about my jewelry pieces is when you inadvertently catch the light and throw shimmers across the surfaces around you with sharp, sparkling bursts of color. I feel at home in that space.
I also fell in love with the resin cast flowers that appear frequently in my pieces. Their vibrant colors are inspired by the beauty found in my Mexican cultural heritage. The flowers imbue my jewelry with life and bring the wearer joy and confidence.
Raised With Wolves
I began using the name Raised With Wolves 8 years ago as an homage to my childhood dream of living in the wild. As an adult, the name now conjures up a wildness that makes me feel alive and free. I try to bring some of these emotions into my designs and artwork.
I use colors and textures that to me symbolize the freedom of nature and the wild: bright like the flowers, earth toned like rocks and trees, and sparkly like the sun shining through leaves or the glistening shapes on moving water.
My hope is that the wearer of my jewelry feels something special. That perhaps if even for a moment, when the sun hits your skin or a breeze blows your hair, that you feel connected, free, and wild all at once. Sitting amongst all my art supplies, paints, sparkles, and metals, that moment is what I wish for for every person. Thank you for taking the time to look through my website, I hope you enjoy what you see!!
